Engineers Vacancies in Power Transmission Corporation of Uttarakhand Ltd

Power Transmission Corporation of Uttarakhand Ltd. (PTCUL), a State Transmission Utility  invites applications from eligible Indian Nationals for appointment to the
following positions:

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electrical & Electronics,
Electronics & Communication with 60% marks or AMIE  (Section A&B examination) with
equivalent grade. For SC/ST candidates only pass marks in qualifying examination. For
departmental candidates (PTCUL) 50% marks or equivalent grade. Candidates should have
thorough knowledge of Hindi (Devnagri Script). Candidates who have appeared in the
qualifying examinations may also apply provided they produce necessary qualifying
certificates before tests/interview.


Age:

Age should be minimum  18 years and maximum 35 years as on 01.07.2011.
Relaxation in upper age limit: 5 years for SC/ST/OBC(non creamy) who are permanent
residents of Uttarkhand and dependents of Freedom Fighters. Emergency Commissioned
officers/Short Service Commissioned officers and Ex-Serviceman who have completed
minimum 5 years of service in the Armed forces will get age relaxation of additional 3 years
in addition to the years of total service rendered in armed forces. This age relaxation shall
also be available to those Servicemen /Officers who are retiring from the Armed Forces
within next 6 months from the last date of receiving the application. As per G.O. No. 1270 dt
11.8.2004 and G.O. No. 776 dt. 22.10.2008. age relaxation will be available for Uttarkhand
State Andolankari.

Reservation:

Reservation for SC/ST/OBC candidates is as given in the above table.
Horizontal reservation will be as per the rules of  Government of Uttarkhand. SC/ST/OBC
reservation will be available only to the candidates who are permanent residence of
Uttarakhand as per the rules of Government of Uttarakhand.


Selection Procedure:

Selection of the candidates will be on the basis of final merit of the
candidate in the merit list drawn on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in the written test
and interview. The written test will consists of objective type multiple choice question paper
of three hours duration. The question paper will have two parts. Part-I having 50 questions to
test analytical ability, quantitative skills, general awareness and current affairs. Part-II will
have 126 questions on related Engineering subjects  of BE level. Each correct answer will
carry 1 mark and each incorrect answer will carry ¼ negative mark.

General Instructions

Application should be filled by the candidate in own handwriting in English CAPITAL
LETTERS only on A-4 size paper in the prescribed format enclosed.
2. A recent passport size photograph self attested by candidate on front should be pasted in
the space provided on the application form and two identical passport size photographs
should be retained by the candidate for future use.
3. The Paper for the written test would be bilingual (Hindi/English). In case of any
discrepancy between two, English version will be relied.
4. Applicant should enclose the following documents alongwith the application.
a. Attested copies of date of birth certificate.
b. Attested copies of mark-sheet and degree of the qualifying examinations.
c. Attested copies of Domicile of Uttarakhand for reserve category.
d. Attested copies of caste certificate in case of SC/ST/OBC (non creamy) candidates
issued by the competent authority of Uttarakhand State failing which candidate shall
be treated as a General Category Candidates. Also,  SC/ST/OBC Candidates of other
states will be treated and should fill up application as General Category Candidates.
They should submit the Demand Draft applicable under General category Candidates
only
e. A crossed demand draft (non-refundable processing fee) of Rs. 400/- only in
case of General/OBC candidates and Rs. 200/- only in case of SC/ST
candidates in favour of Managing Director, Power Transmission Corporation
of Uttarakhand Ltd. Payable at Dehradun from a scheduled bank. Candidate
must write his name on the back of the Demand Draft. Other mode of
payment shall not be acceptable.

5. Candidates serving in Govt./Quasi-Govt. Departments shall have to produce a
No-Objection Certificate at the time of interview.
6. Applications incomplete in any respect will not be considered.
7. Request for change in Test Centre, once allotted, cannot be entertained.
8. List of eligible candidates for written examination, examination centre and date
of examination shall also be available on the website www.ptcul.org and admit
cards for written examination will be issued to all the eligible candidates of the
above list by post.
9. Application in the prescribed format completed in all respects should reach by
ordinary post latest by 26th July, 2011 at the following address :
