The Indian Army invites applications for recruitment of Religious Teachers as Junior Commissioned Officer.

The Indian Army has invited applications for the recruitment of religious leaders like Pandits, Padres and Buddhist monks  for the posts of Junior Commissioned Officers (Religious Teachers) for the RRT-67 Course in the Army.


Civilian candidates should be in the age group of 27 to 34 years and re-mustered candidates in the age group of 25 to 34years, as on October 5, 2011.


Candidates should be graduates in any discipline from a recognised university, along with qualifications like Madhyama in

Sanskrit or Bhushan in Hindi or equivalent standard in a regional language.

Those, who have done BA with Sanskrit/Hindi as the main subject, but have not done Madhyama in Sanskrit or Bhushan in

Hindi are also eligible for the position of Pandit.

For the position of Padre, graduation from a recognised university, in addition to ordained priesthood by ecclesiastical

authority and being on the approved list of the local Bishop.

For the position of Bodh Monk, the candidate must be an ordained Buddhist Monk/Buddhist Priest by the appropriate

authority. The head Priest should have Geshe (Ph.D) of Khampa or Lopon or Rajban, with proper certificate from monastery.

Last date of acceptance of application forms at Headquarters Recruiting Zone, number 3, Rajendra Sinhji Road, Pune -

411001, is August 6, 2011.
